Sermon | "A Counter-Cultural Calling" | January 19

The world was perfect. And then it was not. We live in a broken, sin-plagued world that has the self at the center...which is why, the Way of Jesus feels so upside-down, so counter-cultural...so weird. When we live out the calling of Jesus, it is quite possible and even probable that people will think we're weird. But what if faithfulness to one's calling is simply embracing the weird? And what if the weird is what brings us life?

Sermon | "When Calling Knocks You Over" | January 12
Sunday Jan 12, 2025
Sunday Jan 12, 2025
Saul had the life he'd always dreamed of - theologically adept and culturally influential. In fact, Saul had everything he had worked for...until he was knocked over by a blinding light. Truth be told, his life was being examined in the light and truth of Christ...and it left him blind. Saul was being called to a new way of seeing, a new way being, a new way of loving and living. No longer was he asking the question - what do I want in life? Rather, as one called by Jesus, he began to ask - what does God want to do through me. This is the question we must ask ourselves today.

Sunday Jan 05, 2025
As we celebrate the Baptism of Jesus, we reflect on how Christ, the Light of the World, comes to us through the waters of baptism. In John’s Gospel, the Word becomes flesh, bringing light into a world of darkness. Through our baptism, we are joined to this Light—Jesus illuminates who we truly are in Him. We are more than the circumstances we find ourselves in; we are God’s beloved children, chosen and illuminated by His light.

The baby born in the manger is also the Lion of Judah, powerful and victorious.

Monday Dec 23, 2024
Elizabeth’s response to Mary’s visit shatters assumptions. Who could have expected that a young, unwed girl from Nazareth would carry the Messiah? This week, we explore the assumptions we often carry about who God is, who He works through, and how He operates in the world. Elizabeth’s joyful question, "Why is this granted to me?" shows us that God’s plans often go against our preconceived notions. He works through unlikely people and in unexpected places.

Sermon | "Unexpected" | December 15
Sunday Dec 15, 2024
Sunday Dec 15, 2024
This week focuses on the unexpected ways God works. The first witnesses to the birth of Jesus were not kings or religious leaders, but lowly shepherds—ordinary people in an unexpected place. Luke's account reveals that God's plan often defies our expectations. We might think that God only works through the powerful and influential, but God chooses the humble and the overlooked to announce His most important news.
